A short autobiography by William:
I’m a 22 year old from Cold Lake, Alberta currently living and training in Lacombe, Alberta. I’ve been a boxer for 6 years and have over 50 competitive fights under my belt. I love the sport of boxing because not only does it challenge you physically but it challenges you mentally and has allowed me to break the boundaries of what I once deemed impossible.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. I’ve survived defeats from boxing and have almost quit the sport, a time I reflect upon was in 2019 when I competed at the Olympic qualifiers for a spot to compete at the 2020 Olympics. My run was cut short as I broke my wrist and required surgery that took 2 years to fully heal.
During this time I was not my best mentally and wanted nothing to do with boxing, at the beginning of the 2022 season I decided I had enough of feeling sorry for myself and was going to get back to working on my craft. I fought 17 fights in 7 months winning 15 of them. I beat all the members of team Canada and solidified my spot among the best.
I’m still on the rise, and my goal is to become the best I can at this sport and give it everything I’ve got.I have a dream to promote mental health and to help people around the world grow and become the best versions of themselves.
